Printing Birmingham Stage 1
Crown Labels holds 250,000 sqM of materials from different suppliers at any one time. This consignment stock enables us to meet the demanding lead times often required. It also minimises downtime waiting for materials to be delivered. The materials enter the factory with the various adhesives already coated and when needed are easily picked from the racking for converting.
Printing Process Stage 2
Here is the stage where we add the colour to the job. We use both water based and U.V inks to give us a good range of materials we can print onto without losing our quality. The ink is poured into the tray where it passes through a series of rollers before being evenly applied to the printing plate.
Rotary Cutting Dye Stage 3
On this picture you can see the loading of the rotary cutting die. This is the tool that is precision engineered to cut any shape out of the face paper without cutting through the backing liner. We can also get tools that can cut out holes in the material and put in perforations.
Printing Stage 4 Stage 4
Once we have the ink in the press and the rotary die is lined up, its time to add the printing plate. We use a high resolution plate mount machine to accurately put the plates on square and in line.
Printing Stage 5 Stage 5
Once our plates are on, we register them to print in the correct part of the label. On our state of the art press we have adjustments that allow us to move the image in every direction to some degree. This allows us to exactly place the printed image on the label before commencing the print run.
Printing Stage 6 Stage 6
Our finished product is quality inspected to ISO 2000 standards before palletising. We ensure that all products are neatly and well packaged before leaving our factory and in the unlikely event of a problem we have a complete traceability procedure so help with finding and solving any issues.
Printing Stage 7 Stage 7
We offer both local and national delivery services that include economy delivery, next day and even same day in some cases. We use euro pallets for the majority of our palletised goods but can use other sizes if requested. For trade companies we also send goods under plain wrapper ensuring confidentiality to the customer.
We hope from this short insight into the workings at Crown you have seen enough of our ability’s to contact us with your label and ribbon requirements.
